Position Summary:
Responsible for ensuring that all pickups and deliveries are undertaken on a timely basis, including between farms and on-site.
General Duties:
Transports raw materials between farms and off farm in accordance with Company expectations
Performs and records safety circle checks on truck being operated as per Ministry of Transportation (MOT) requirements
Immediately reports vehicle problems to the Farm Manager and takes immediate corrective action when warranted
Assists in preparing the peat mixers, conveyors, and other required tools and equipment for use in peat preparation operations
Complete necessary documentation, such as vehicle inspection, log, etc.
Operates pallet jack and lift truck to perform job duties as needed
Embrace and support the highline culture and values, acting as a brand ambassador at all times
Interact with others in a manner that promotes respect, confidentiality and dignity
Develop and actively foster an engaged work force, displaying professionalism at all times
Adheres to the Safety Policies, including use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment
Reports unsafe conditions immediately to the Supervisor
Reports all incidents, injuries and near misses to the Supervisor
immediately
Cooperates in the Early and Safe Return to Work Program if an injury or medical illness requires accommodation
Performs any other duties that may be assigned as required
Qualifications:
Must possess a Class AZ license, above average driving record, insurable
Must be eligible to work in Canada
Minimum 3 years transport driving experience
Manual Transmission Experience required
Grade 10 or equivalent
Hours of Work:
any 5 days/week
4:45am-6:30am start time, 10-12 hours/day, some afternoons if needed
Public Holidays / Weekends as scheduled
Daily shift end times vary based on production needs
Earnings:
$27.60 Hourly
