Position Summary:
Phase I Compost is the important first step in the mushroom growing process, creating the compost - the living soil that contains the nutritional elements necessary to grow mushrooms. Loader Operators utilize specialized farm equipment to mix the raw ingredients together that the mushrooms will eventually grow in.
General Duties:
Operates and maintains farm machinery and equipment including, but not limited to Front End Loaders
Ensures daily maintenance of fluid levels and cleaning of equipment(Pre-shift inspections)
Ensures efficient operation and filling of compost through the blending lin
Responsible for flipping the compost every 3-4 days into another bunker, mixing and adding more water
Washing/cleaning and proper maintenance of all Wharf equipment and premises
Maintains strict hygiene at all times
Embrace and support the Highline culture and values, acting as a brand ambassador at all times
Interact with others in a manner that promotes respect, confidentiality and dignity
Develop and actively foster an engaged work force, displaying professionalism at all times
Adheres to the Safety Policies, including use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment
Qualifications:
Must be eligible to work in Canada
Must have Loader certification; Heavy Equipment Certification is an asset
3-5 years of experience operating a loader preferred
Good Manual Handling Practices and be able to lift up to and including 40lbs
Prior experience or training in the operation of heavy and mobile equipment required
Hours of Work:
5 days / week
Public Holidays / Weekends as scheduled
Daily shift end times vary based on production needs
Earnings:
$34.00 Hourly
